Uncle Mark got to spend most of that Saturday with us, which was fun especially since the weather was nice. Thanks to Mark for sweeping out the garage, helping Jon finalize a couple of items for his work bench, for helping to till up the sod for our new garden, and as always, doing the dishes. We didn't quite make him work all day...he got to play a little bit. :)

Marie also got her very first haircut a couple of weeks ago. She had so much fun. She particularly liked it when the stylist used the spray bottle to dampen her hair and when it was "windy" (hair dryer). We think the cut turned out pretty cute as well.

Then last weekend, our very good friends, Laura and Sean came in from Minneapolis for a visit. We hadn't seen them for quite awhile and were very grateful for the time we got to spend with them. We went to the park and really just hung out...so relaxing. Marie and Joey took to Sean and Laura right away and they were very accommodating as they enthusiastically read book after book.

A few weeks back on a Saturday, we were discussing the birth of the son of a couple of our friends. Shortly thereafter, Marie told us that Peter's mommy broke her water so she had to go to the office to get it fixed. On Sunday while on our way to church, she wanted to know if Peter was going to be bath-tized that day.
Today at lunch, she was singing the last line of the Hail Holy Queen ("That we may be made worthy of the promises of Jesus Christ your Son.") She sang it over and over, starting in a very nice voice. By the time she was on her 5th or 6th rendition, imagine her singing fervently in a loud voice and slightly lower tone with eyebrows furrowed. It could be that we have a little opera singer on our hands.
